Happy New Month From 9jaflave ( 9ja Inspirational Blog)

Hello everyone!!! We are just about saying goodbye to the month of May and in some minutes, we will be in the month of June. It is amazing how time flies. I am grateful for the gift of life and living. I am grateful for faith and hope. I am grateful for family and friends. I am grateful for the opportunity to share my thoughts with you. I am grateful for inspiration.

May I be the first to wish you a happy new month. Welcome to the month of June. It is half of the year 2016. What are you going to do with the other half? What are your intentional plans? What are you going to give up to make things happen for you? What will be your motivation? What are you thinking about? What is the big idea?

I believe that until you are grateful for what you have, you may never truly see that which you can become and achieve. I will love you to take out time this month to be grateful. Get a journal and write. Think about the little things that seem not to matter, the people in your circle of life, moments and events and be grateful for these things. Write them down and you will be amazed at how much you are thankful for.

Be simply grateful this month and live each day being thankful. Have a blessed month ahead and stay inspired @9jaflave.

9jaflave FFT - Are You A Voice Or An Echo?

Here is today's Food For Thought - Are You A Voice Or An Echo?

Think about it. Be a voice that stands for something- a cause, a purpose, an ideal and real values. Be a voice that speaks up for those who have no voice and those whose voices have been drowned by life, society, circumstances and tragedies. Be a voice who has a message and is on a mission.

Or would you rather be an echo? An echo is simply an imitation or a repetition. Being a flawed version of the original does no good. It pays to be who you are. Yes, you keep procrastinating just like an echo keeps repeating itself. All that an echo does is to keep saying it over and over again. What would you rather be? Think about it. A voice or an echo.

Harvard Graduate Inspires The World With His 'Poetic' Speech

Donovan Livingston, Harvard University School of Education’s Class of 2016 graduate is inspiring many around the world with his graduation speech. Read the full text of his speech after the cut.

Livingston, who is reportedly now a social science research assistant at the school, chose to deliver his graduation speech in poetry. His Poem "Lift Off" has since gone viral with many positive remarks. He opened his speech with the words of education reformer Horace Mann: “Education then, beyond all other devices of human origin, Is a great equalizer of the conditions of men.”

The poem has a great message for educators and indeed for everyone who desires to do something meaningful with his/her life. I loved this part, such powerful and inspiring words.

At the core, none of us were meant to be common.
We were born to be comets,
Darting across space and time,
Leaving our mark as we crash into everything.

Happy Children's Day

Happy Children's Day!!!!! Children are precious gifts and are a blessing to our world. They are our future and indeed the hope of a better tomorrow.

Let us as parents, teachers, guardians and caregivers teach them well. Let us teach them through how we live our lives. Let us teach them through our words and actions.

Let us teach and model values like hardwork, modesty, integrity, love, courage, honesty, humility and love to them.

Let us teach them well and they will go on to lead the way. Let us show them the beauty they possess inside, for there are countless treasures buried deep within them. Let us nurture them, guide them, encourage them, motivate them and always be there for them.

Let us make up our minds today to be responsible parents, teachers and guardians as we celebrate these children. Choose to teach them well and be committed to show them the beauty they possess inside them.

9jaflave Soliloquy - Give Up Who You Have Been For Who You Can Become

There is a place you have been and there is a place you ought to be.

There is a past and there is also a future.

There are disappointments and there will surely be victories.

There will be down moments and there will be happy days as well.

There will be seasons of failing and there will be seasons of success.

There will be days of giving up and there will be days you have to keep fighting.

There will be a time to let go and there will be a time to hold on.

There will always be a past and there will always be opportunities to create a better future.

Let today be the day you give up who you may have been for who you can become.

9jaflave Soliloquy - What Sets Your Soul On Fire?

What sets your soul on fire?

What is that one thing you want to do that will give your life purpose and direction?

What is that one thing that gives you hope and makes you want to try again?

What sets your soul on fire?

What is that one thing that makes you want to reach for the stars?

What is that one thing that motivates and challenges you?

What sets your soul on fire?

What is your passion?

What sparks up your creativity?

What lights up your imagination?

What is your dream?

Why are you alive and breathing?

What sets your soul on fire?

Dig deep within you and find that one thing that sets your soul on fire.

A story, a song, a cause, an invention, a word, whatever it is, find it and bless the world with what sets your soul on fire.

9jaflave Soliloquy - Think About Why You Started (2)

Life is tough and it gets tougher by the day. Think about why you started on this journey of faith.

The world seems to be coming down on you. Think about why you started on this journey of change.

No one seems to understand your dreams and vision. Think about why you started on this journey of hope.

There seems to be no light at the end of your tunnel. Think about why you started on this journey of possibilities.

You are just about to quit and give up on your ideas. Think about why you started on this journey of courage.

If you can figure out why you started on your journey, then you will look beyond the moment and see everyday as a gift moving you closer to your destination. Simply think about why you started.

Life Lessons Prince Taught About Success

American Musician Prince Rogers Nelson popularly known as Prince passed away last month, and many across the world have continued to pay their tributes and celebrate his musical prowess.

Below are some life lessons Prince taught us about Success as shared by blackentrepreneur. Go here to read more.

Master Your Craft
Prince played at least 27 different instruments and he wrote not only his own songs, but numerous hit songs for other artists. He learned to play a majority of the instruments before he turned 18!

Prince is categorized as a musician, but he was so much more than that. Prince was the epitome of a master craftsman. To continually learn to play new instruments at a professional level of mastery shows the dedication and passion that Prince put into his life. He showed us exactly how we should all approach our purpose.

There are many opinions about what it takes to be successful, but if you watch the lives of the people that have achieved the level of success that you desire, mastering skills and hard work are the common denominator.

Be Willing to Take Risks
In 2004, Prince sold more than 600,000 copies of his Musicology album thanks to a non-traditional sales move. Those who bought tickets to his sold-out arena shows received a copy of the album. The move drove sales and inspired Billboard to tweak its album tallying policy.

Three years later he gave away copies of his album Planet Earth to subscribers of The Daily Mail, moving 3 million copies. Prince’s take? “It’s direct marketing.”

9jaflave Soliloquy - You Are Not A Tree (2)

I posted this some months back, "You can choose to remain on the same spot in your life or move over and create something beautiful out of it. You are not a tree." Go here for the full post.

Jim Rohn says, " If you do not like the way things are, change it! You are not a tree".

You can choose to talk about your problems or work your way out of them. You are not a tree.

You can choose to seek sympathy and wallow in self -pity or take charge and find a way out of your misery. You are not a tree.

You can choose to keep living in the past or create a better future for you and the next generation. You are not a tree.

You can choose to keep murmuring or keep shut and begin to birth ideas. You are not a tree.

You can begin right now to change the way things are or remain where you are the rest of your life. You are not a tree.

Only a tree remains on one spot. It is either left alone or cut down. So if you do not like the way things are in your life, change it!!!! You are not a tree.

Cheers!!! Do have a great week ahead and stay inspired @9jaflave.
