The Young Blind Nigerian Author Who Sees Beyond Her Limitations

Meet Adeife Ugwumsinachi Adeniran, the young blind Nigerian female author, based in South Africa. This young woman sees beyond her limitations and is on a journey to impact her world.
Her mother's quest to seek better medical treatment at the Pretoria Eye Institute in 2005 for her, led to their eventual settlement in South Africa. This was to take advantage of existing medical and educational facilities considered suitable for her rehabilitation and development.

Adeife attended Bumble Bee Pre-School in Pretoria and proceeded to Prinshof School for the Visually Impaired, Pretoria in 2006, where she manifested her creativity early. She has represented her school at various inter-school competitions including singing (in Afrikaans), Poetry and Drama. She has won academic awards in mathematics, Afrikaans, English, social science and life orientation. She has also been awarded a certificate/trophy for Exemplary Behaviour.

Her first book “Can You Imagine?”, is a product of her prolific imagination. She started keeping a diary in 2010 that contained her collection of thoughts based on interactions. Her desire is to impact the lives of physically challenged children in Africa and the world at large. She also plans to build an international school for disabled children in Nigeria.

Adeife who is also a motivational speaker, uses her eloquence to encourage children in pursuits and the fight for the rights of the physically challenged. In one of such speeches she received a prolonged ovation at the 2013 National Diaspora Day Conference in Abuja.
