9jaFlave FFT - Who is Writing Your Life's Story?

Life is a choice, life s a journey and life is all about responsibility. Everyone of us is on a journey and how that journey ends depends greatly on how we choose to write the story of our lives.

Every story is different and we all have a part to play in writing our individual stories. Every man's destiny is in his own hands, handing the pen to others to write your own story will do you no good.

Who is writing your life's story? Choose responsibility, grab that pen and be bold enough to write your own story...it will surely have a happy ending. Have a great and fulfilling week ahead. Cheers!!!

Young Nigerian Entrepreneur Fuses Religion And Social Media With His PrayerBox App

Meet Oyelaja Oyekan, 26 year old Nigerian entrepreneur and CEO of Cybernator Solutions. An app developed by him 'PrayerBox' is been tagged Africa's twitter for religion and currently has over 40,000 users. His application offers users a platform to post prayer points, testimonies and share prayers with each other privately. It also offers a means to connect users with their churches via one of its features, Church Pages.

Oyekan who says entrepreneurship is about building a company, managing people, generating revenue and learning to stay motivated when things get hard, shared about his entrepreneurial journey with howwemadeitinafrica. Read excerpts below...

What was the inspiration behind starting Cybernator Solutions and ultimately the platform PrayerBox?
I started Cybernator Solutions out of my passion for writing computer code. I learnt to code for the fun of building things and never made any money from it until I built a one page website for an educational consultancy. This led to more freelance jobs and eventually the urge to start my own company.

The inspiration for PrayerBox came from understanding Nigeria as a very religious country and seeing the increasing trend of people sharing prayer points on social media sites. This made me realise the potential of building an online platform dedicated to religion and giving churches a more personalised way of connecting with their audiences and congregation.

How One Man's Simple Idea Is Changing The Lives Of Less Privileged Children

Kenton Lee is the inventor of  'The Shoe that Grows", his shoes which grows 5 sizes in 5 years is adding value and comfort to the lives of many less privileged children around the world. Lee came up with this simple idea while working at an orphanage in Kenya, when he noticed a little girl with the ends of her shoes cut off and her toes sticking out.

The shoe which grows 5 sizes in 5 years is made out of a high quality soft leather on top, and extremely durable rubber soles. They expand through a simple system of buckles, snaps, and pegs. and are predicted to last a minimum of 5 years, and expand 5 sizes in that time.

In his words: “I had no idea how important shoes were before I went to Kenya,” But kids, especially in urban areas, can get infections from cuts and scrapes on their feet from going barefoot, and contract diseases that cause them to miss school.” So far about 2,500 children across 7 countries are wearing the shoes, including in Ghana, Haiti, Peru, Colombia, and Kenya.

The 30-year-old, who started a church in Idaho with his wife, said  he wanted to put these kids in the best possible position to succeed in their lives.“If I can provide a kid with protection so they stay healthy and keep going to school, I’ll have done my part.”

FULL TEXT: General Muhammadu Buhari’s Official Acceptance Speech

The Die is Cast

Acceptance Statement by General Muhammadu Buhari, GCFR, President-Elect of the Federal Republic of Nigeria
April 1st, 2015

I am immensely grateful to God for this day and for this hour. I feel truly honoured and humbled that the Nigerian people have so clearly chosen me to lead them. The official announcement from INEC was the moment the vast majority of Nigerians had hoped and been waiting for. Today, history has been made, and change has finally come. Your votes have changed our national destiny for the good of all Nigerians .

INEC has announced that I, Muhammadu Buhari, shall be your next president. My team and I shall faithfully serve you. There shall no
longer be a ruling party again: APC will be your governing party. We shall faithfully serve you. We shall never rule over the people as if
they were subservient to government.

Our long night has passed and the daylight of new democratic governance has broken across the land. This therefore is not a victory
for one man or even one party. It is a victory for Nigeria and for all Nigerians. Millions of you have worked for this day. So many have
risked life and livelihood; and others have died that we may witness this moment.
