Oscar Winning Actor/Director Richard Attenborough Dies at 90

Oscar winning actor-director Richard Attenborough has died at the age of 90. He passed away on Sunday. Attenborough began his career as a classically trained English actor and went on to star in hit films as "The Great Escape," "Jurassic Park" and a remake of "Miracle on 34th Street." I personally remember him from Jurassic park. RIP.  I read some inspiring things about him and his work. See below:

His 1982 film  "Gandhi", which he is best known for took him 20 years to make. While working on the film, he went bankrupt several times, he mortgaged his house and his family suffered to a certain extent while working on this project. He said: "I placed things at risk because I cared about it so much."That film went on to win 8 Academy awards. Talk about persistence and passion. Truly Inspiring!!!!

Also his marriage to actress Sheila Sim spanned 70 years and produced 3 children. "My philosophy has always been that I believe that art is not an elitist gift for a few select people. Art is for everyone," he once said.
